Cost of Services?

I noticed when signing up for the MapPoint Services, you get a developer account. If we use one of these templates and move forward to production, do we need to upgrade to a full MapPoint Services account? If so, what is the cost associated with these services?

Hi AdrenalineWerks,

MapPoint WebServices (MPWS) is the only service you need to pay for if you move into production (i.e. there is no free threshold);

with the other services Contacts API / Photos API / Controls / Virtual Earth etc. all these are covered under - http://dev.live.com/terms/

Typically the threshold for an authenticated service is 1 million unique users per month; for something like Silverlight Streaming the threshold is 1 million streaming minutes per month @ 700kbps and upto 4gb storage;
for Virtual Earth it is 100,000 transactions per day.

See http://dev.live.com/terms for more information.

Angus, thanks for the pointer to the Terms of Use. We are probably under the free threshold limit.

It's too bad that the MPWS doesn't provide the same type of threshold limit. Do you have any pointers to pricing for the MPWS?

Thanks,
